The Power of Self-Acceptance

Nonviolence begins in acceptance. As long as we resist what’s happening within ourselves or others, that movement ‘against’ what’s happening can come out in unfortunate or violent ways. When we develop the power to accept what is, we can make authentic choices about what works for us and others in each situation.
Self-Acceptance means developing non-resistance to all the parts and movements of ourselves. This includes the parts that are difficult to be with, like the inner critic or past wounding. In accepting ourselves, we can listen to what is important in all these parts and integrate them. This integration process allows us to choose more freely how we respond to life and all the people and situations we face. Join me on this way to wholeness.
