About Me

Connection is at the core of my life and my work. Self-connection, authentic connection with others, and connecting with Transcendence to live into our place in the Universe.  I am dedicated to growing these levels of connection to be empowered and to empower others to give their greatest gifts to the world. Through yoga, Nonviolent Communication and films, I share what I have discovered about personal and spiritual growth, healing, and contributing to a world that works for everyone. My focus is on developing our capacity to be authentic and free so that we can make choices and live in a way that is aligned with our deepest values. I believe that when more and more people connect to what they truly want, we will create together a better world.

I grew up between cultures and countries with an awareness of the greatness of our planet. I was born in the Netherlands, and grew up in Canada and the UK. My parents were activists and philosophers with an open spirituality, and I emerged from childhood with a conviction to help others and a sense of mystery about what is beyond this material life. By the age of 13, I was studying Buddhism and knew that a spiritual path would be a big part of my life. I also had profound experiences with the native shamans of Canada as a teenager, and I went to India in 2001 to look for the depths of yoga. I found an esoteric tantric school, the Mahasiddha school, and dedicated to study and practice. Within this lineage, I began studying Kashmir Shaivism in 2003, and that same year I made my first film Entering the Lotus. From then on, these two aspects of my life developed together.

In 2014, I did a yoga teacher training in Antastha yoga with Sanjeev Bhanot, and I gained important skills in empowering yoga students to go to the depth of their practice. That same year, I went to my first Nonviolent Communication (NVC) workshop which changed my life. NVC gave me a deep capacity to hold all parts of my being with compassion. In addressing my own inner violence, I have grown in my capacity to be non-violent with others. Studying and sharing Living Compassion, NVC teachings from Robert Gonzales, gave a new dimension to my personal and spiritual growth.

I continue with immense gratitude to deepen my Yoga and Shaivism practice, grow in NVC consciousness and express myself creatively through film. My vision is to bring these methods to as many people as possible with a hope to reach a critical mass of people who awaken in consciousness and compassion.
